DCMS Wolfson Museums and Galleries Improvement Fund
The Museums and Galleries Improvement Fund was established in partnership with the Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) in 2000 to improve the quality of displays, exhibition spaces, collection interpretation and disabled access in museums and galleries across England.
To date, the partnership has committed some £44 million to the improvement of 382 museums and galleries across England. The programme is jointly funded by the Wolfson Foundation and DCMS. Grants are made up to the level of £300,000.
In January 2017 the latest awards were announced by Matt Hancock, Minister of State for Digital and Culture, and Paul Ramsbottom, Chief Executive of the Wolfson Foundation, at the London Transport Museum.
