We commissioned independent consultants nfpResearch to survey grant holders and applicants across all our funding programmes. Today we have published the results.

The aim of the research was to better understand how applicants see the grant making process, their relationship with the Wolfson Foundation, what is working well and the areas for improvement.

In this blog, our Chief Executive, Paul Ramsbottom, reflects on the findings.

At a time when many of the sectors that we support are facing considerable challenges, we were pleased to hear that our application process seems proportionate, and that there is a clear need for our specialism of capital funding.

We have also identified areas for improvement. The team has taken on board suggestions from respondents to provide more help and guidance, particularly at the initial stage of applying to us. For example, we have created an eligibility quiz to check if your project could receive funding from Wolfson.

We have also put together the first of a set of case studies designed to support applicants. We will continue to expand this bank of resources.

We are very grateful to those who took the time to respond to the survey. We are committed to continually improving our processes and trialling new ways of working.

We welcome comments – positive or negative – at any time. You can email grants@wolfson.org.uk or share feedback with a member of the team.
