We are aware of an email phishing scam where emails falsely claiming to be from the Wolfson Foundation inform recipients that they have been awarded a grant or scholarship.
These fraudulent emails are sent from personal email addresses and not from the Wolfson Foundation domain. They ask recipients to supply personal information such as bank details.
We have reported this to the National Cyber Security Centre.
Emails that are sent genuinely from the Wolfson Foundation will be sent from a member of staff. We will normally only contact you if you have applied to one of our funding programmes. In particular, please be very cautious in sharing financial information – and remember we will never ask you to transfer any money to us.
If you are unsure whether an email you have received is genuine, please contact us via grants@wolfson.org.uk
