In our latest funding round, over 100 organisations across the UK will receive a share of some £16 million for capital projects.
Focussing primarily on research and education, projects supported in this round include gallery refurbishments, new rehearsal facilities and specialist research equipment, as well as the redevelopment of hospice inpatient units, school science laboratories, and residential spaces for individuals with complex support needs. Organisations are located throughout the UK, from Inverness to Llanberis and from Ballymoney to the Isle of Wight.

Our funding for science and medicine includes support for research-intensive universities and institutions to expand their research facilities.
Queen’s University Belfast receives a grant of £1.2 million for an ophthalmology suite in iREACH Health, a new clinical research innovation centre that will accelerate the translation of new treatments towards clinical trials. The state-of-the-art facility will support advanced eye research, with a particular focus on ageing, early disease pathology, and the impact of conditions such as multiple sclerosis, Down syndrome, and Alzheimer’s disease on eyesight.

Our funding programme for health and disability supports charities working with disability and mental health, organisations providing care and services for older people, and hospices.
Located in the Cheshire countryside, David Lewis receives a £100,000 grant towards the construction of three residential bungalows for individuals with complex support needs. The new homes will enhance the independent living skills of 14 residents who access a range of onsite education, training and therapeutic programmes offered by the charity.
In Newcastle, St Oswald’s Hospice will use their £100,000 grant to refurbish their adult inpatient and day services facilities and Children’s Hospice. The refurbishment will ensure the spaces follow standards of best practice for infection control and safety while helping every patient feel welcome and comfortable.

We also provide support to cultural organisations across the UK through our funding for heritage, humanities and the arts.
This funding round, Amgueddfa Cymru – Museum Wales receives a grant of £350,000 towards a major redevelopment of the National Slate Museum in Llanberis. Works will transform the museum into a gateway to the Slate Landscape of Northwest Wales, recently designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Grade I-listed Victorian workshops of the Dinorwig Quarry will be conserved and renovated, facilities improved to make the museum accessible to all, and the story of slate maintained for future generations.
Discover Children’s Story Centre in east London receives a grant of £200,000 towards the creation of new galleries. A dedicated gallery space will foster the earliest foundations of literary skills and children’s key early developmental needs, while the new ‘Story Tree’ – an accessible, multi-storey, vertical gallery – will celebrate stories inspired by the natural world.

Our support for education also extends to secondary schools and sixth form colleges. In 2025, we have awarded 47 grants across the UK for facilities for science, design & technology, computer science, and the performing arts.
Rushcliffe Spencer Academy in Nottinghamshire receives a £90,000 grant towards new science laboratories. The new spaces will enhance students’ experience and learning, bridging the gap between theory and practice.
In the village of Balfron, near Stirling, Balfron High School will use their £40,500 grant for specialist equipment for design & technology, music and art, supporting students drawn from a rural catchment area in their practical coursework and learning, and broadening their creative experiences.
