The Wolfson Foundation is keen to ensure that it works in the most transparent way possible. This is even more important at a time when philanthropy is coming under increased scrutiny.

We also place significant emphasis on being a listening funder – and taking advice on our policies and our applicant processes from organisations who apply to Wolfson.

With this in mind, in 2019 we commissioned the research organisation nfpSynergy to conduct an anonymised independent survey of all of our recent applicants to assess their perception of the Foundation. It was important to us that all applicants, successful and unsuccessful, had opportunity to provide comment and advice.

We were pleased with the response rate, and are very grateful to those who took the time to participate in the survey.

Please see the survey findings of our Grantee and Applicant Audit 2019 and our response to the survey.

We encourage ongoing feedback from applicants, so if you wish to contact us, please email
