We are pleased to announce today that 80 organisations will benefit from the Wolfson Foundation’s Covid-19 Support Fund. Some £10 million has been awarded to help organisations mitigate the impact of Covid-19 this year and plan for 2021.
Thirty-nine grants were awarded to health & disability organisations, including 18 hospices, and forty-one grants were awarded to heritage & arts organisations. All awards were between £25,000 and £250,000.
The organisations range from a small heritage project in Scotland to a hospice in North Wales, to large UK-wide charities. All have been awarded unrestricted funding to be used entirely flexibly, wherever the need is greatest.
The Foundation was keen to stand in solidarity with these sectors that have endured an extremely difficult year – running a light touch funding process.
Paul Ramsbottom, Wolfson Foundation chief executive said, “I am delighted that we have been able to increase our spending this year, and to shift our focus to provide unrestricted funding to organisations that have had very challenging years. We hope that this fund acts as a mark of solidarity as well as financial support.”
