Wolfson History Prize (2010)
The winners of the prizes in 2010, awarded at a reception on 7 June 2011, were:
Dr Ruth Harris for The Man on Devil's Island: The Affair that Divided France (Allen Lane: Penguin Press)
Professor Nicholas Thomas FBA for Islanders: The Pacific in the Age of Empire (Yale UP)
The winners received £20,000 each.
The judges were Sir Keith Thomas FBA (Chairman), Professor Richard Evans FBA, Professor Sir David Cannadine FBA and Professor Julia Smith FRSE. A press announcement is available here.
The Wolfson History Prize, established in 1972, is awarded annually to promote and encourage standards of excellence in the writing of history for the general reading public. More information is available here.
