£10m joint initiative with British Academy announced today

October 2018

The Wolfson Foundation and British Academy today announced a major initiative to promote and support high quality research in the humanities and social sciences across the UK.

It is the largest ever single grant awarded in the humanities and social sciences by the Foundation and will see the British Academy deliver a transformative programme to support early career researchers. Please see full press release.

Please note: The Wolfson/British Academy Fellowships will be administered by the British Academy and further information will be made available on their website in due course.

This initiative is the second of two £10 million initiatives announced by the Wolfson Foundation in the past month. The first was a major mental health research initiative, supported by the UK’s leading mental health charities, encouraging proposals from research organisations to advance the understanding and treatment of mental health conditions. For more information, please see our Mental Health Initiative press release.
