DCMS/Wolfson Museums and Galleries Improvement Fund

The Museums and Galleries Improvement Fund was established in 2000. Since then £28 million has been allocated for the refurbishment of gallery space. The programme is jointly funded by the Wolfson Foundation and the Department for Culture, Media and Sport. Grants are made up to the level of £300,000.

Following the eighth annual funding round (announced in Summer 2009) it was agreed to undertake a review of the programme, and a report will be issued in due course. An announcement on the future of the programme will be made late in 2010 or early in 2011.
