Education: case study

In June 2008, Trustees awarded £40,000 towards the creation of new science laboratories at Jordanhill School in Glasgow. These much needed facilities were completed early in 2009. Jordanhill is a highly praised school and has consistently been the highest performing state school in Scotland.

Jordanhill School also received a grant of £25,000 in 1998 towards the purchase of IT equipment. The School won the Becta ICT in Practice Award for Secondary Leadership in 2006. These grants are examples of the Wolfson Foundation's schools programme which supports the teaching of science and technology within secondary schools, particularly ones with a proven record of excellence.
