As a general policy, grants are given to act as a catalyst and to back excellence and talent. There is a continued emphasis on science, technology, medicine, healthcare, education and the visual arts. Grants are usually only made for capital projects, i.e. new buildings, renovation and equipment. Trustees meet twice a year and are advised by panels comprising Trustees and specialists which meet before the main Board meetings. The Foundation operates a peer review system, and all applications are assessed by expert external reviewers. For a further indication of the types of projects supported and level of awards under various programme headings, please refer to our Annual Report. |
