DCMS Wolfson Museums and Galleries Improvement Fund

The Museums and Galleries Improvement Fund was established in 2000 to improve the quality of displays, exhibition spaces, collection interpretation and disabled access in museums and galleries. A publication was issued in 2011 looking back at the Fund's achievements over the previous eight years.

To date, nearly £40 million has been allocated for the refurbishment of museum and gallery spaces through this partnership. The programme is jointly funded by the Wolfson Foundation and the Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS). Grants are made up to the level of £300,000.

Awards under the most recent funding round were announced in January 2014. A full list of these grants is available here. For more details of these individual awards and their locations, see the DCMS map.
